Labels

Superior Labels responds to the evolving needs of today's business, not only meeting but also exceeding the needs of our customers. Every label product from Superior is backed by sound technical expertise, first class service and years of manufacturing experience. At Superior we work continually to deliver tangible value to our customers.

Superior provides direct thermal, thermal transfer, laser, cold and hot foiled, EDP labels and tags used in a wide range of supermarket, retail, data processing, ticketing and many other applications.

As a manufacturer, Superior stocks a vast amount of raw material. This allows us to quickly develop and produce labels that meet customer's emerging needs.

Superior uses state of art flexographic conventional and UV printing to produce labels in up to 8 colours. Labels can be finished in either rolled, fanfolded or sheeted format. Sequential numbering is also available. We stock hundreds of dies; therefore most label sizes are readily available.

Superior manufactures labels using direct thermal, thermal transfer, vinyl, film, foil, high gloss paper, mat finish paper and many other materials. Adhesives with permanent, cold temperature, freezer temperature and removable properties are readily available.

Ribbons

Superior Labels proudly supplies only top quality thermal transfer ribbons. Stock or custom configurations are available. Choose either inside or outside wound, in a wax, a wax/resin blend, or a pure resin formula. Superior supplied ribbons are available in standard black, or in colours to meet almost any requirement.

Overview of Thermal Transfer Ribbon Types

Ink Type: The ink characteristics of a thermal transfer ribbon is determined by formulating the type and proportion of the ribbon's wax, resin, and pigment components. The resulting formulations produce three basic classifications of a thermal transfer ribbon: wax, wax/resin, and resin.

Speciality formulations have been developed for applications that require images to withstand extreme temperatures with resistance to steam, dry cleaning, steam pressing, and ironing.

Ribbon Width: Incorrect ribbon width can be wasteful and/or adversely affect wear on the printhead and artificially increase the customer's application costs. Generally the ribbon's recommended width is near the same width as the label backing paper, or the width of the tag if no backing is used.

Ribbon Length: Using the longest ribbon length recommended by the printer manufacturer will result in changing ribbon rolls less often. However, if other considerations are important, or the customer does not know the recommended ribbon length, Superior can assist in matching the proper ribbon length to the printer model, application, and/or other customer requirements.
